Terms of use
The conditions on which this website and any publication sold through it are made available.
Version 1.0 · effective 18 August 2026 · governed by the laws of Brazil
1. Acceptance
These terms govern access to pairwise.online and the use of any publication supplied by Pairwise. Continued use of the website constitutes acceptance of them. Anyone who does not accept them should stop using the website.
2. Eligibility
The website and its publications are intended for adults aged 18 or over. Use by anyone under that age is not permitted.
3. Nature of the material
Everything published by Pairwise is editorial and informational. It consists of descriptions of published research, written for a general readership. It is not professional advice of any kind, and it is not tailored to the circumstances of any individual.
No professional, therapeutic, clinical, counselling, advisory, or fiduciary relationship arises between Pairwise and any reader, purchaser, or correspondent. Reading an article, buying a publication, or exchanging email does not create such a relationship. The disclaimer forms part of these terms.
4. No claim of result
Pairwise makes no representation that reading its material will produce any outcome, change, improvement, or effect in any person's relationships or circumstances. The material describes what researchers observed among their participants under their conditions. Nothing in it is a prediction about any reader, and nothing in it should be read as one. Any decision taken after reading is the reader's own.
5. Licence and intellectual property
All text, layout, design, and code on this website, and all publications supplied by Pairwise, are protected by copyright and remain the property of Pairwise or its licensors. Purchase of a publication grants a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to read it and to make a copy for private use.
The following are not permitted without prior written permission: redistribution, resale, sublicensing, public posting, sharing of access credentials, systematic extraction, translation for distribution, or use of the material to train a machine-learning system. Quotation for review, comment, teaching, or research is permitted with attribution.
6. Citations and third-party work
Research cited in the library belongs to its authors and publishers. Citations are given so that the original work can be located and read. Pairwise claims no rights over cited work and does not reproduce substantial portions of it. Links to external sites are provided for reference; Pairwise does not control those sites and is not responsible for their content or their handling of data.
7. Purchases and payment
Prices, contents, format, and delivery method for any paid publication are stated in full on its page before purchase. Payment is processed by a third-party provider under its own terms. Delivery of digital material is by email or by a link supplied after payment is confirmed. Refunds are governed by the refund policy.
8. Payment disputes
Where a charge appears unfamiliar or incorrect, contacting support@pairwise.online generally resolves the matter faster than a bank dispute, and the refund window is available without a reason being given. Where a chargeback is raised, Pairwise will supply the payment provider with the transaction record, the delivery record, and any correspondence. Access to material subject to an unresolved dispute may be suspended until the dispute is closed. Nothing in this clause limits any statutory right to dispute a payment.
9. Availability
The website is provided as it stands, without warranty of uninterrupted availability. Pairwise may amend, withdraw, or reorganise published material at any time. Where a purchased publication is withdrawn, purchasers retain the copy already supplied to them.
10. Acceptable use
The website may not be used to attempt unauthorised access, to interfere with its operation, to scrape it systematically, to impersonate Pairwise, or to send abusive or unlawful content to the support address.
11. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Pairwise is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from use of the website or its publications, and its aggregate liability in connection with a purchased publication does not exceed the amount paid for it. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability under the Brazilian Consumer Protection Code (Law 8.078/1990) and any mandatory consumer protection applying in a purchaser's country of residence.
12. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federative Republic of Brazil. Disputes are subject to the courts of Brazil, without prejudice to any right a consumer has to bring proceedings in the courts of their own country of residence where mandatory law provides for it.
13. Changes
Amendments are published on this page with a revised version number and effective date, and apply from that date. The version in force at the time of a purchase governs that purchase.
14. Contact
